The Government Analyst – Food and Drug Department (GA-FDD) participated at this year’s Health Expo, held on the 5th – 08th June, 2019 by the Ministry of Public Health.
The aim of the Department was as follows:
(1.) To foster bilateral relationships with our customers,
(2.) To sensitize the public on the importance of hand washing practices,
(3.) To promote food safety practices when handling food,
(4.) To sensitize the public on the Department’s mandate,
(5.) To educate the general public on what to look for when purchasing food and pharmaceuticals products.
The Department updated it’s Facebook page so as to inform the public about its ongoing activities and to give a brief introduction about its role under the egis of the Ministry of Public Health.
Overall Goal: To project a positive image of GA-FDD and the Ministry of Public Health
The objectives for the Health Expo 2019 were to provide the following services:-
– Hand washing using the Glo Germ kit – To demonstrate the effectiveness of hand washing and sanitizing when handling ready to eat food.
– Video presentation – Consumers will be given a view on how their samples are tracked through the analytical system.
– Tokens – To give an incentive for persons attending and participating at the GA-FDD booth.
– Education Materials – to inform the public on the services offered by the department and to promote Public Health Awareness.
– To project a positive image of GA-FDD and the Ministry of Public Health.
